Two Syllables

For The Sake
Of Your Soul
Lost Heart Say What You Want Come Home
Who are
these kids
falling
out of
the sky?
These are
they, the
ones we
knew must
come. With
wings of
truth and
words of
beauty,
they make
us look
at our
simple
lives and
question
our whole
purpose
on Earth.
Listen
to these
children
for the
sake of
your soul.
Frozen
hands and
feet mean
you have
a warm
heart, right?
Then what
does it
mean if
you have
warm hands
and feet
but a
cold and
empty
feeling
where your
heart is
supposed
to be?
It means
I lost
my heart
somewhere
along
the way.
Pencil
long and
wooden
black lead
the soul
and heart.
Grip tight,
control.
Make it
say what
you want.
It has
no thought
or a
desire
to say
a word.
Let it
be your
sword and
pierce the
hearts of
those who
can read.
Thusly
you make
it be
all it
can be.
"Come home,"
said Mom.
Answer:
"Hell No!"
I am
alone
in this
big world.
Stop there
and think,
teachers
tell me.
What of
your great
future,
they ask.
All that
I know
is that
I'll go
as far
as my
two feet
will still
carry
my soul.
