"I want to write the answers, goth is a feeling, goth is a type of soul: either you have it or you don't... it is combination of everything..."

"It's a way of thinking, looking at the world through a dirty half empty cup. It's peering into the darkest part of your soul and welcoming what peers back."

"Goth to me is your own lifes drama."

"There is far too much to say than you could ever know, and far too much to feel than i could tell you. Its more than music, fashion or style, its an entire way of life and a way feeling. Its loving the cemeteries at 12:00 at night just because they're beautiful, its accepting yourself for who you are..."

"Individuality is the source of all things gothic - it's all about self-expression."

"Not all goths are filled with angst... most are sweet, very loving... and have great values. They shouldn't be judged on what they look like."

Religious architecture * historical times (medieval, Renaissance, Victorian) * a certain country or place (Europe, England, Germany) * a feeling of alienation * musical groups and personalities * punk rock scene of the 70's & 80's * a tribe in ancient Germany (the Goths) * dark, romantic fiction * death, witches & vampyres * poetry and literature (Poe, Shelley, Rice) * oppression * Christianity * harsh reality * Hollywood * lonely kids reading books during their lunch hour at school * I don't know but thank god it did...
